You can backup locally, or you can backup in the cloud (or both). See iCloud page for iCloud Backup.
Using the menu File, Save as.., you can create a backup in the directory of your choice
Mastock create a new directory including the date of the backup.
There are several levels of restore.
Restore All, delete and replace ALL your data, including reloading quotes from internet. Rule of thumb, about 10 seconds by stock. Major issue with it, outside of the time, is the fact that manually imported data will not be restored and will have to be re-imported from files.
Restore Lines and Restore Investments are instantaneous and only restore, either Lines, Comments and Fibos, or all data relative to investments.
Restore is irreversible. In general, it is recommended to create a new backup before the restore operation… just in case.
